Outsourcing of HR - Possibilities and Pitfalls

Overview

This Research Report was produced by Anthony Hesketh of the Centre for Performance-led HR, Lancaster University Management School in May 2006.

We examine Human Resource Outsourcing (HRO) in depth, to understand what it is, why it is needed and how best it can be implemented.

With contributions from 28 senior HRO executives in the UK, US and Europe and three case studies, independent and objective data was gathered to enable an evaluation of the business case for HRO and its actual performance.

We identify emerging trends in HRO and offer guidelines and recommendations for HR practitioners, HRO advisers and third party providers.
