Overview
This Research Report was produced by Wendy Hirsh with Charles Jackson in February 2003.
It was stimulated by growing interest among CRF members in the subject of ‘globalisation' and the resultant need to provide effective career management for employees at an international level.
Interviewing 36 individuals from seven organisations, we identify the key drivers for employing expatriate workers and the organisational structures used to support an international workforce.
We discuss the approaches required to successfully select, manage and support staff in international roles, collect advice from the expatriates interviewed for potential expatriates and their employers, and look at the future of international careers.
