L&D Interest Group Meeting, The Future of the L&D Function

23 October 2012

Anglo American, 20 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AN

Our aim at this session of Interest Group Meeting is to identify some of the challenges and opportunities provided by technology within the L&D function.

Overview & Content

Particular goals are to:

• Debate the vision for L&D functions proposed in Andrew Lambert's recent CRF research report 'The Impact of Technology and Social Media on Learning'
• Identify some of the challenges in moving towards this vision, including the attitudes and current capabilities of L&D professionals
• Understand the steps being taken by companies making the journey towards a new understanding of the role of learning, and the L&D function, within their organisations
• Provide the opportunity to review where your organisation currently stands, and help you identify actions to move you forward

Please come prepared to question our presenters, and share your experience.

You may want to read the executive summary of Andrew's report, and encourage you to read Chapter 4 of the full report which you can access via the CRF website.

We're also planning to reflect an aspect of the session content by inviting you to comment on the meeting in real time using the 'todaysmeet' tool. We'll explain how this works at the start of the session. All you will need to bring with you to participate is a smartphone, laptop or tablet with internet access.
