The Role of the Board in Creating a High Performance Organisation

While the focus on boards and directors in recent years has been on the impacts of regulation, we find that more businesses destroy value through strategic mismanagement at board level than fraud or malpractice. This report attempts to redress the balance, exploring the role of the board in creating a high-performance business. As part of the research that informed this report, CRF interviewed directors, board chairs, chief executives and several executive and non-executive directors, along with other advisers and consultants to gain a high level of insight into the current state of boards at UK listed companies.
