Executive Summary: Improving Performance Through Appraisal Dialogues

This report examines whether the formal dialogue in performance appraisal between an employee and their manager is effective in improving the employee's performance. Through member input, the characteristics of effective appraisals are revealed including how they can be used to align individual and organisational goals and different appraisal techniques.
