Strategic Organisation Design Programme by CEO, University of Southern California

Organisation Design has been a focus of research and teaching at the Center for Effective Organization (CEO) for the past 30 years. Their work has consisted of numerous studies that have explored, defined, and assessed new organisational forms and corporate structures that have emerged over decades that marked the transition from the industrial era to today’s knowledge-based, technologically enabled, diverse, and rapidly changing global economy.

CEO will be running an organisation design programme between 28 - 31 March 2017 in the UK and are delighted to offer a 10% discount to all CRF members.

Please refer to the information in the leaflet to benefit from the discount.

Rewards for Speed, Productivity and Agility

Rewards – the purpose of which is to attract, retain, and motivate employees - are the most static HR process. Though potentially a powerful lever for change, in practice they are a force for the status quo – far more often acting as a roadblock to rather than a facilitator of organisational agility. Many reward leaders do not know how reward systems could be otherwise. The academic and business press offer little help; only a handful of articles have ever been published on the topic. Gerry’s session reviewed why rewards have become impediments to dealing with disruption in far too many organisations and offered some prescriptions for making rewards far more adaptive in the future.

Global Economic Outlook - competing for talent

In our first speaker session, Nuria shared the latest news about the global economic outlook. In a word, it’s worrying. The outlook is worsening – growth is slowing all around the globe, and growth projections have declined over the past year for virtually all advanced economies, and emerging ones too. Although emerging economies (especially India) are still growing, growth is slightly less robust than previously forecast; in advanced economies, growth is best described as anaemic, and some economies are already teetering on the brink of technical recession. This is especially true in the UK, where Brexit has already had a negative impact on growth.

KPMG - Talent Management for the Future

KPMG’s masterclass explored how organisations can better meet employee and business expectations around workforce in the turbulent world of Industry 4.0 – amidst a shortage of top talent. In the interactive workshop, delegates looked at the use of simple but defined geometric shapes to develop free-flowing, colourful artwork – focussing on how this applies to HR building blocks to deliver brilliant employee experience. Delegates then looked at the effect of Industry 4.0 on the future of work and total workforce management, particularly the changing needs of all types of ‘workers’ and the needs of the business.
