The Naked Leader: Hidden Account Management
In this short excerpt from one of his books, David Taylor shares tips for successful account management and raising the profile of your department within the organisation, be it Human Resources or IT.
"Our future is now decided not by what we do, but by what people think we do, and how they believe we do it. What we actually do is almost irrelevant. There is one proviso on this – I am assuming that everyone reading this, as an ambitious leader, wants to do, and be their best (i.e. they do not come into work with the intent to completely sabotage their companies). Every single business team I know, and I know a fair number, works hard and long, has dedicated people, and is focused on success."
David suggests that the perception of any internal function within the business is critical and gives tips for improving and changing it to ensure future success.
