OD’s quest for relevance: Are we sleeping at the wheel?

Dr. Chris Worley, Senior Research Scientist at the USC Marshall Center for Effective Organizations, explored the perils of OD’s staying in place. Chris argued that purpose, strategy, and capabilities determine relevance, impact, and influence. What’s true for business holds for organisation development. When OD is not clear about its purpose, macro trends such as digitalisation, globalisation, and urbanisation will dictate choices that optimise efficiency instead of human well-being.
