Predicting
Performance
at Work
Online | Tuesday 24 February 2026

Event
The first work psychology network meeting of 2026 will focus on predicting shorter-term performance in roles at all levels. Find out more and watch the overview of the event video by Work Psychology Network lead, Prof. Rob Briner, below.
When recruiting and selecting employees we need to maximise the chances of choosing those most likely to perform well and contribute to business success. But what does job performance actually mean? How can it be measured? And what does work psychology tell us about which predictors are most important?
Attendees will:
- Understand the many meanings and types of job performance and their relevance.
- Discover the range of measures of job performance and their validity and reliability.
- Gain insight into work psychology theories and explanations of how we can predict job performance.
- Understand the evidence around which predictors most strongly relate to job performance.
