Event: IMD Residential – Leading Teams in the Age of AI

AI is already changing how work gets done, how decisions are made and where expertise sits. But its impact on teams is rarely uniform.

What happens to leadership when AI becomes part of the team?
AI is already changing how work gets done, how decisions are made and where expertise sits. But its impact on teams is rarely uniform. People adopt different tools, at different speeds and with different levels of openness, creating new questions around trust, performance, accountability and influence.

For leaders, this is not simply a technology challenge. As AI takes on more analysis, advice and execution, leaders will need to rethink where human judgement adds most value, how accountability works when decisions are increasingly AI-supported and how to lead teams where human and AI contributions are becoming more intertwined.

Led by IMD Professor José Parra Moyano, this 1.5-day immersive event will explore the new realities of leading teams in the age of AI. Through practical exercises, simulations and discussion with senior peers, participants will examine how AI changes team dynamics, decision-making and leadership itself and develop practical approaches they can apply in their organisations.

Participants will explore:

  • How AI is reshaping the role and responsibilities of leaders
  • How to lead when AI use within teams is uneven or not always visible
  • How to build trust, transparency and accountability around human-AI collaboration
  • When leaders should trust AI recommendations and when human judgement should prevail
  • What these shifts mean for leadership capability, talent and organisational strategy.

Who is this event for?

CHROs, HR Directors and senior Talent, Leadership and Learning leaders responsible for preparing leaders and organisations for an AI-enabled future.
