GCC CONFERENCE
Making Teams Work
Creating Highly Effective,
AI-Enabled Teams
Abu Dhabi
In-Person | Thursday 19 November 2026
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Thursday 9.00 – 16.00 GST
Event
The growing adoption and capabilities of AI are prompting organisations to rethink how work is organised and how teams are used.
This conference explores what the evidence tells us about effective teamwork, when teams are the right way to organise work, and what changes when AI becomes part of how that work gets done. We’ll examine the established principles that continue to matter, consider how AI may affect the distribution of work, expertise and decision-making, and explore what this means for the design and leadership of teams in practice.
Learning Objectives
- Understand what a team is: how it differs from other forms of working groups and when teamwork is the appropriate approach.
- Explore what enables teams to function effectively: including the evidence on team composition, leadership and ways of working.
- Examine how AI may affect teamwork: including how it can support existing teams, change the distribution of expertise and responsibilities and influence when human collaboration adds value.
- Apply these insights in practice: consider what they mean for the design and management of teams in organisations.

Every Connection Counts: Building High-Trust Teams That Excel With AI
Trust is built one interaction at a time, yet it can unravel in moments. As AI speeds up how work gets done, the human connection that trust depends on can erode unless leaders tend to it. Where trust and shared judgement are strong, AI can help a team move faster and reach further. Where trust is fragile, psychological safety goes with it, and people hold back the questions and concerns that good decisions depend on. That’s why high-performing teams now need leaders who are more intentional about building trust, encouraging psychological safety, and exercising shared judgement.
In this interactive masterclass, you’ll create a web of connection with fellow participants, naming the behaviours that build trust along the way. Together, we’ll explore what it takes to build trust, protect it, and rebuild it when it breaks.
You’ll leave with:
• A first-hand experience of how quickly trust can unravel across a team
• A practical model for helping leaders build trust and psychological safety through everyday behaviours
• A clear way to think about what teams should preserve, and where AI can help them accelerate.
Succession to Value™
Succession has long centred on the person and the C-suite, relied on today’s generic responsibilities and competencies, and favoured planning over action. With companies reshaping strategy faster than ever, HR must shift its focus to preparing leaders, wherever value is created, for a future that can change at any time. This masterclass will explore how HR can make succession a driver of value.

Vlasios Vlastos
Hult Ashridge Faculty, Research and Innovation Partner Delphi Group, CEO and Co-Founder Dalia Labs
Vlasios works at the intersection of leadership and applied frontier technology innovation. An entrepreneur and educator, his work is centered on studying the AI forces that are reshaping the nature of leadership, and the choices organizations must make to navigate this consequential shift.
He is a faculty member at Hult Ashridge Executive Education. He also leads the research and innovation practice on AI and leadership at Delphi Group, a 30-year-old US think tank. His focus is on the transformative potential of the hybrid organization paradigm, and on the formidable challenges that lie at its core, which are fundamentally human.
Vlasios is also the CEO and co-founder of Dalia Labs, an agentic-first company specializing in hybrid teams’ performance.
Drawing on 25 years of corporate executive leadership experience with Fortune 500 companies and government institutions, Vlasios speaks about agentic AI not as a technology story, but as a leadership story. He challenges leaders to confront an uncomfortable truth: the playbook that built their careers was designed for a world where humans were the only intelligence in the room. That world no longer exists.
He holds a BSc in Engineering, an MBA and studies in educational psychology and neuroscience. Beyond the boardroom, he is an avid follower of the debate on AI consciousness and how it reshapes our understanding of what it means to be human.
