D&I and Wellbeing
Community Event: DI&W – Future-proofing Inclusion – Reimagining Support for Working Parents
Wednesday 10th September, 11am – 12pm BST
Conversations surrounding parental support in the workplace are getting louder, steeped in nuance and everybody seems to have an opinion on ‘market leading’ policies. So how do we cut through the noise and figure out what’s right for your business?
Chances are you know a lot about what parental support looks like already, but do you give yourself the headspace to think about what it looks like in reality? This session is designed to give you that moment of reflection.
We’ll explore the blend of strategy alongside practical action to look at:
- What does your future ready toolkit look like? Packed full of practical ideas to take away and shape around your specific organisation
- Why this conversation now? The backdrop families and employers are facing right now.
- The commercial case – we’ve seen the headlines but it’s time to get comfortable with this as an approach and engage the broader business.
- Supercharging current support models – blending what’s already going well with surfacing the gaps that need addressing
This community is intended for senior HR professionals with responsibility for D&I, Wellbeing and the role of the organisation in society. It offers an excellent platform for sharing, discussing, and comparing challenges and successes with peers.

Charlotte Speak
Parental Support Consultant and Coach
Charlotte Speak is a Parental Support Consultant and Coach, a mum of two, a voracious bookworm, and a theme park enthusiast with a keen eye for the best rollercoasters.
She founded Power of the Parent® in 2018 after her own less-than-stellar experience of becoming a parent in the workplace—a chapter that reshaped her career, fuelled her determination, and left her on a mission to change the world of work for parents and carers. At the heart of Charlotte’s work are two big beliefs:
1. We don’t stop developing if we have a family.
2. A strong parental support strategy is not about ‘special treatment’—it’s about fairness, opportunity, and getting the best from everyone.
Today, she partners with businesses who want to attract, retain, and develop their brilliant people who happen to be parents or carers. From designing transformative strategies to delivering practical workshops, challenging unhelpful narratives to shining a light on the good stuff, Power of the Parent® offers support that’s flexible, strategic, and makes a tangible difference. Because who wouldn’t want a workplace where people – and the business – can truly thrive?
