ER/IR Network Event: What’s Next on the Employment Rights Act
As the Employment Rights Act reaches its next stages, many organisations are reassessing not just how they respond to each new requirement, but what the Act as a whole means for their employee relations strategy.
As the Employment Rights Act reaches its next stages, many organisations are reassessing not just how they respond to each new requirement, but what the Act as a whole means for their employee relations strategy. The changes already in force — the strengthened duty on sexual harassment, the removal of the cap on unfair dismissal , zero hours and flexible hours work rights and the shorter unfair dismissal qualifying period — have raised issues organisations anticipated, and a number they did not.
With senior practitioners, specialist legal input and an ACAS perspective, this ER/IR Network event will take a strategic view of what organisations have found most difficult, what has taken them by surprise, and what the next stages are likely to demand.
We will review the most relevant recent and upcoming changes with input from employment lawyers, explore what they mean for both unionised and non-unionised organisations, and share practitioner insights on how ER strategy is adapting. You’ll come away with practical information, peer insights and ideas to inform your own organisation’s approach.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand what organisations have found most difficult as the Act has been implemented.
- Identify the issues that have emerged unexpectedly and what they mean for your business.
- Discuss approaches to future challenges emerging from the Act’s provisions.
- Learn from senior practitioners and experts on how their ER strategy is adapting to the new landscape.
