Event: Transforming HR – Purpose, Capability and Technology – Stockholm

  • February 4, 2027
  • Stockholm, Sweden
Your business is changing and it needs HR to make it happen.
Your business is changing and it needs HR to make it happen.

Businesses are changing fast in response to new opportunities, competitive challenges, geopolitical shocks and technological advances. Organisations must respond by revisiting what they sell, how they operate and how fast they can decide and act.

That has direct consequences for HR. A function built around a previous set of business priorities will find it hard to serve a different one. Transformation therefore begins with a clear-eyed look at what HR provides today, what the business will need next, and the skills, systems, data and operating models required to close the gap.

AI has two direct impacts. It is reshaping business models, products and how work is organised, which changes what the business asks of HR. It is also changing how HR itself delivers. Demands for cost reduction are constant, and while savings are available, efficiency alone leaves the function much as it was. The more useful question is what becomes possible: services HR could not previously offer or could only offer to a few.

Transformation is complex, disruptive and costly, and programmes frequently take longer and deliver less than intended. Being decisive about what to simplify, redesign, outsource or stop is what keeps a programme delivering value rather than simply rearranging the function.

Done well, this strengthens HR’s contribution to the questions the business cares most about: productivity, capability, cost and speed. Where that contribution is visible, HR’s influence on business decisions grows; where it is not, the function tends to be pulled back towards administration. Join this event to work through how to move from a changing business context to a clear, deliverable plan for the function.

What the event and research will deliver

Participants will leave with:

  • A clearer view of how shifts in the business environment – technology, geopolitics, new competition – translate into specific demands on the HR function
  • An approach for assessing current HR services against what the business will need, and identifying the gaps that matter most
  • Practical principles for deciding what HR should strengthen, simplify, redesign, outsource or stop
  • A clearer understanding of where AI can reduce cost and where it can create services HR could not previously deliver
  • A view of the skills, systems, data and operating model required to make new services work in practice

From research to practice

The research will establish the evidence base and practical frameworks, drawing on existing research, organisational practice and expert insight.

The event will put that thinking to work. Through case studies, expert input, practical exercises and peer discussion, participants will assess their current service portfolio, test it against likely business needs and leave with clear priorities for change.
