Work Psychology Network Event: Evaluation of Learning Interventions

  • May 18, 2027
  • London, United Kingdom
How do we know whether learning interventions actually work?
Organisations invest heavily in learning, but evaluation often focuses on immediate reactions rather than whether people have actually learned something, changed their behaviour or improved performance.

Effective evaluation starts with being clear about what the intervention is trying to achieve and how it is expected to create change. It also means looking beyond short-term feedback to whether new knowledge and skills transfer into the workplace.

This session will explore what good evaluation looks like, why common approaches often fall short and how organisations can better assess whether learning is making a meaningful difference.

Attendees will:

  • Understand the key principles of effective learning evaluation.
  • Explore why common evaluation approaches often provide limited evidence of impact.
  • Consider how to assess changes in knowledge, skills and behaviour.
  • Examine how learning can be evaluated over time to understand whether it transfers into the workplace.
  • Apply these principles to improve the evaluation of learning interventions in their own organisations.
