Future of Work and Agility

Innovation: Growth from Uncertainty

  • April 28, 2022
  • London, United Kingdom
  • Online

In-Person: 9.15 – 15.50 BST (Masterclasses begin at 8.30 BST, 8.15 arrival) / Online: 9.50 – 12.15 BST

The recent crisis has created levels of uncertainty seldom seen before. Work (how, where, who and what is done), technology, economics, education, geopolitics and society as a whole are changing at a pace that is hard to keep up with. However, this has the potential to be a catalyst for innovation, enabling organisations to meet evolving customer needs with new products and services.

Business leaders face an uncertainty dilemma: all possibilities come with uncertainty and the unexpected has possibility hidden within. But because we are wired to fear uncertainty we miss the possibilities.

This event will address the question why crises spur innovation and how to replicate the successes in a more ‘stable’ environment. Through interactive presentations, discussions and exercises we will explore the issues from an organisation, team and individual perspective, looking beyond our own organisations and industries to learn about the factors of success.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand what conditions make some organisations more innovative than others and why some individuals embrace uncertainty, and seek opportunity for growth, while others freeze.
  • Identify HR’s role in creating an environment that enables high levels of innovation.
  • Each attendee will have the opportunity to develop a tailored action plan identifying how they can contribute to creating the right organisational environment for innovation to flourish.

Masterclass

Hosted by CRF Event Partner Coursera, this pre-event masterclass titled The Skill in Reskilling: Is Your Business Ready? begins at 8.30 BST (please arrive for 8.15). Finishes at 9.15 coordinating with the main event start time.

The Skill in Reskilling: Is Your Business Ready?
Skills shortages, dealing with redundant skills and pressure for a more sustainable and flexible approach to talent is pushing companies towards investing in reskilling. We know reskilling is good for our businesses, but many organisations aren’t doing all that they could. What’s stopping them?

In this Masterclass, we will explore the issues, asking:

  • Who should / does have responsibility for reskilling and why?
  • How do they get functions to work together towards a common goal?
  • What is the blueprint for a successful reskilling programme, and how do you measure its success?

Who is this Event for?

Senior HR leaders with a focus on creating an environment to enable innovation to thrive and developing leader capability and mindset to be more innovative.
