The Novartis Chair was established to enable the study of human interactions that lead to the creation of successful business enterprises for the betterment of society. Professor Edmondson teaches MBA and Executive Education courses in leadership, team effectiveness, and organizational learning, and a doctoral course in field research methods.

Prof. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic is an international authority in people analytics, talent management, leadership development, and the Human-AI interface. He is the Chief Innovation Officer at Manpower Group, co-founder of Deeper Signals and Metaprofiling, and Professor of Business Psychology at both University College London, and Columbia University. He has previously held academic positions at New York University and the London School of Economics, and lectured at Harvard Business School, Stanford Business School, London Business School, Johns Hopkins, IMD, and INSEAD, as well as being the CEO at Hogan Assessment Systems. Dr. Tomas has published 10 books and over 200 scientific papers, making him one of the most prolific social scientists of his generation. He is a frequent contributor to Fast Company, The Guardian, Forbes, and the Harvard Business Review. 

Dr. Marshall Goldsmith’s Ph.D. is from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management where he was the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year. He teaches executive education at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business. He is one of a select few executive advisors who has worked with over 150 major CEOs and their management teams. Marshall served on the Board of the Peter Drucker Foundation for ten years and has been a volunteer teacher for US Army Generals, Navy Admirals, Girl Scout executives and International and American Red Cross leaders – where he was a National Volunteer of the Year.

Dr. Margaret Heffernan produced programmes for the BBC for 13 years. She then moved to the US where she spearheaded multimedia productions for Intuit, The Learning Company and Standard&Poors. She was Chief Executive of InfoMation Corporation, ZineZone Corporation and then iCast Corporation, was named one of the ‘Top 25’ by Streaming Media magazine and one of the ‘Top 100 Media Executives’ by The Hollywood Reporter.

The author of six books, Margaret’s third book, Wilful Blindness: Why We Ignore the Obvious at Our Peril was named one of the most important business books of the decade by the Financial Times. Her TED talks have been seen by over fifteen million people and in 2015 TED published Beyond Measure: The Big Impact of Small Changes. Her most recent book, Uncharted: How to Map the Future was published in 2020. It quickly became a bestseller and was nominated for the Financial Times Best Business Book award, was one of Bloomberg’s Best Books of 2021 and was chosen as the ‘Medium Best of the Best’ business book. Her new book, Embracing Uncertainty will be published in March 2025.

She is a Professor of Practice at the University of Bath and, through Merryck & Co., mentors CEOs and senior executives of major global organisations.

In 2023 Margaret was inducted into the Thinkers50 Hall of Fame for her lasting contribution to management thinking.

She is a frequent broadcaster on BBC Radio 4 and the author of many broadcast plays. She writes for the Financial Times and is a parish councillor.

Tom Standage is Deputy Editor of The Economist. He is also responsible for the newspaper’s digital strategy and the development of new digital products, including Espresso and Economist Films. Prior to this, Tom was Digital Editor, Business Editor and Technology Editor. He is the author of several books, the latest published in 2013 entitled Writing on the Wall: Social Media: The First 2,000 Years (2013).

Dr Grace Lordan is the Founding Director of The Inclusion Initiative and an Associate Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Grace is an economist and her research is focused on quantifying the benefits of inclusion within and across firms, as well as designing interventions that level the playing field for under-represented talent within firms. Grace is an expert advisor to the UK government sitting on their skills and productivity board, is a member of the UK government’s BEIS social mobility taskforce and is on the Women in Finance Charter’s advisory board.   Her academic writings have been published in top international journals and she has written for the Financial Times and Harvard Business Review. Grace is a regular speaker and advisor to blue chip finance and technology firms. Think Big, Take Small Steps and Build the Future you Want is her first book.

Amy Gallo is the author of the HBR Guide to Dealing with Conflict, a how-to guidebook about handling conflict professionally and productively. As a contributing editor at Harvard Business Review, she writes about interpersonal dynamics, communicating ideas, leading and influencing people, and building your career. As a speaker and workshop facilitator, Amy combines the latest management research with practical advice to deliver evidence-based ideas about how to improve relationships and perform better at work.

Nigel Sullivan is Chief People Officer at Bupa. As a member of the Executive Team, Nigel leads the transformation of People Functions including all aspects such as payroll, operations, recruitment, talent, OD, engagement, training and development. Prior to joining Bupa, Nigel was Group Human Resources Director for TalkTalk from 2010 – 2017. He started his career in Human Resources at Rover Group and subsequently held senior HR positions at Nortel Networks, Marconi and the logistics group Wincanton plc. He is a Non Executive Director of the Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Bath.
